HELP THE RURAL CHILD CHARITY SHOPS SEA POINT |
|
I am not sure if you are aware of Help the Rural Child Trust (NPO) and the fact we have opened two Charity Shops at 369 Main Road Sea Point in July 2011. One is a Clothing and Bric-a-Brac shop, and the other a Bookshop. So far the Clothing Shop has done exceptionally well with great response from the Community, but the Bookshop has been struggling. We are subsequently planning to have an Event in the Bookshop for about 40 people in order to create awareness amongst the local Community as to our locality, what the Shop has to offer and generally what a worthy cause it is that we are attempting to raise money for. The event will be on Wednesday 15th of February 2012 at 7.30pm in the Rural Child Charity Bookshop which is situated at 369 Main Road Sea Point. The Guest Speaker will be Pete van Heerden (Planning Coordinator for the 2010 FIFA World Cup with the City of Cape Town) who will be doing a power-point presentation entitled: “The Evolution of the Green Point Common into the Green Point Urban Park. WHAT NOW?”

Myconnect has always been a key part of the design of a sustainable MyCiTi service, and the myconnect system is being introduced in phases. At the end of each phase the City tests and measures to ensure that lessons learnt in each phase are implemented and the system refined to ensure that the customer benefits. When all the phases have been introduced, in the not-too-distant future, the City will have catered for all the various users.
When a card is purchased, the customer gets two emergency tickets to use should you get stuck without value on the card. These tickets substantially reduce the R22 activation cost. From the middle of February this year myconnect cards may be handed in at any station and get back the R22 activation fee, provided you have kept your receipt.
